Spirit Day 2023
Spirit Day, one of ODA's favorite traditions, returned in full to the Uihlein Campus, with a day of friendly and fierce competition and camaraderie. Click here to view photos from the event.
The highly anticipated event commenced with a parade of the entire student body around the track in Thunder Stadium. The games opened with the exciting 8th grade obstacle course where the White Team narrowly defeated the Blue Team. All students then broke into grade-level "Olympic-style" competitions including games such as minesweeper, gold rush, bombardment, potato sack races, kickball, capture the flag, musical dots, and water balloon toss. Spirit Day finished with the highly anticipated senior obstacle course, which the White Team won in an exciting finish. At the close of the event, there were smiles, laughter, and an incredible celebration of the sportsmanship between the two groups with the White Team being named winners of 2023 Spirit Day!

Congratulations to all of our students for competing with integrity. A special thank you to our volunteers, to our amazing Parent Association who treated the students, faculty, and staff to icy cold Kona Ice, and to everyone who donated peanut butter and jelly for the Food Bank of Manatee!
