Banyan Bash 2014

Thank you to everyone for bidding, participating and supporting The Out-of-Door Academy's inaugural Banyan Bash online auction! With 100 unique items to bid on, the ODA community stepped up to the challenge to bid high and bid often and raised over $70,000 towards Banyan Bash. 100% of the proceeds from the Banyan Bash are utilized to support the people and programs that make Out-of-Door such an exceptional school. On Friday, February 21, The Out-of-Door Academy welcomed over 200 grandparents and special friends on a picture-perfect day on the Siesta Key Campus.

The Out-of-Door Academy's passing rate for 2013 was 95%. Nationally, our AP passing rate would place us in the top 1% of all schools sponsoring an AP curriculum.

In its third year, the Lacrosse Program at The Out-of-Door Academy is experiencing incredible growth and strength. Over 50 Middle School and over 40 Upper School student-athletes are playing lacrosse.

Film Students' Recognition

Three students in the Upper School Film Club won recognition from the Los Angeles filmmaker Nirvan Mullick for the documentary they created about the Cardboard Challenge on the Siesta Key campus last fall.

Siesta Key Reunion


The Siesta Key campus welcomed several alumni for a reunion in the old library. Eight alumni from the 60s, 70s and 80s enjoyed lunch together, reminisced, shared stories, and looked through old yearbooks.

Nearly twenty members of the Out-of-Door community had the opportunity to attend the National Association for Independent Schools (NAIS) in Orlando. Out-of-Door was represented in many ways at the conference by students, faculty and administration.
