Dear Friend of Out-of-Door,

Thank you for your interest in learning how you can support The Out-of-Door Academy.  Our school's fiscal vitality is a result of people who have supported Out-of-Door throughout the school’s storied history. Out-of-Door’s success is a direct result of the many individuals whom have created and maintained a culture of philanthropy and a spirit of volunteerism which is prevalent on both campuses.  You are a big reason that The Out-of-Door Academy is one of the premier schools in the State of Florida as a result of your support of: The Annual Fund, the Annual Dinner/Auction, Capital Giving and Volunteerism.

Our mission which is to provide an environment in which students strive to achieve high academic goals and to build character through a balanced program of academics, athletics and the arts, can only be accomplished by assistance from every member of the Out-of-Door family: Trustees, Faculty/Staff, Parents, Grandparents, Alumni, Parents of Alumni, and Friends of Out-of-Door - all contributing, to the best of their financial ability.

An independent school must have a strong charitable giving program to survive.  The Out-of-Door Academy operates without tax support and even at a loss of $1,000 per student without charitable gifts. The federal government encourages philanthropy by allowing charitable gifts to be deducted from taxable income, and Out-of-Door's non-profit status enables supporters to take advantage of these tax benefits.
