How to Give a Gift of Stock to The Out-of-Door Academy

1) To advise Out-of-Door of the gift...

Please contact the Advancement Office with the designation for the stock gift, the number of shares and the identity of the stock. We prefer that this is done in writing, but you or your broker can call us directly if you wish at (941) 554-3403. Our fax number is (941) 349-8133. To ensure efficient and accurate processing of the gift, it is vitally important to communicate the information listed above with the Advancement Office.

2) If your shares are held in an account... (PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF BANK AND ACCOUNT #)
Ask your broker to make an electronic transfer of the shares to Out-of-Door Academy's PNC Bank, financial account #50500018454013. The DTC number is 2616, and it is needed if the stock is currently in an account with a company other than PNC Bank. When the stock is received in our account, we will receive notification from PNC Bank. The stock will be sold immediately and a receipt will be sent to you. The effective date of the gift for this method is the date the shares are placed in our account.

3) If you hold the certificate for your shares...
Please sign the stock over to Out-of-Door Academy, either by endorsing the back of the certificate or by using a stock power, and mail it to the Advancement Office at 444 Reid Street, Sarasota, FL 34242. Due to the nature of the document being mailed, we recommend that you send it via certified/registered/express mail. When the certificate is received, it will be sold immediately and a receipt will be sent to you. The effective date of the gift for this method is the date of the postmark.

4) If you are transferring shares of a mutual fund...
Please contact the Advancement Office to discuss how to initiate the transfer. Because each mutual fund company has its own unique procedures, we will need to contact your mutual fund company or your broker to coordinate the most efficient way to make the transfer.
