Is your child's favorite book genre fantasy, history, graphic novels, or fiction? No matter the favorite, it is extremely important to encourage your child to read over the summer break.
Readopoly is a reading project created by Reading Teacher, Miss Brittany Hiller, to encourage students to read a variety of texts representing many genres they might otherwise not read.
On April 23rd, 2016, Out-of-Door's Emily L., '18 was awarded a $1,000 music scholarship for piano from the Suncoast Music Scholarships, a partnership between the Sarasota Music Club and the Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota Partnership.
Approximately 1% of 1.5 million high school students who take the PSAT in their junior year, will receive the prestigious recognition of being a National Merit Scholar and finalist and Out-of-Door's Sierra VanSuch, who came to the school four years ago as the second recipient of the Taylor Emmons Scholarship Fund, can claim that distinction amongst her peers.
The Out-of-Door Academy sent a contigent of students and faculty including Ms. Fafalios, Ms. Grady, Amy D., '16, Christopher E., '18, Maram F., '20; Mutaz F., '19, and Mira K., '20 to the State Latin Forum of the Florida Junior Classical League (FJCL) Latin Competition which was held from April 7-9, 2016 in Orlando, Florida.
