Academic competitions are a great way for talented students to deepen their knowledge about their favorite subjects and challenge themselves to research and create. Competitions bring students together who share interests and abilities, and the atmosphere buzzes with learning and friendship. Students at The Out-of-Door Academy have participated and excelled in various academic competitions including Mandarin, Latin, geography, math, and science. Click above to read more.
During MITT, the fourth and fifth grade students are working on a unit focused on influential media.
Middle School students were recently recognized for their academic achievement in the first and second quarters of the school year.
The Upper School science students have been busy researching, building, mapping, and studying advanced topics for recent science competitions. Seventeen Upper School students participated in the Florida Science Olympiad in February, and a ninth grader competed in the Sarasota Regional Science Fair in January.
Four seniors scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT, which placed them in the top 1% of test-takers worldwide. 93% of seniors who applied Early Decision were admitted and 91% of seniors who applied Early Action were admitted to at least one of their schools.
