Classes Work Together in the Halloween Spirit on Both Campuses
Both campuses were abound with spooktacular events for Halloween this year.
Halloween at ODA is always a festive and exciting day! Students and faculty got into the spooky spirit of the day with many fun activities at both campuses.
At the Uihlein Campus in Lakewood Ranch, the Parent Association provided special treats for Upper School and Middle School students. Student Council decorated campus and brought in a musician to entertain during lunch. Our oldest students were part of a costume contest and held a mummy wrap challenge for Thunder Cup points. Middle Schoolers got in the spirit wearing costumes and participating in a pumpkin carving contest among advisory groups.
At the Historic Siesta Key Campus, “ODA's Core Values Unleashed” and Thor (Mr. and Mrs. Mahler) led a parade of students to the Kozel Family Amphitheater where they showed off their costumes to their assembled families. After the parade, there were parties in all of the classrooms where students enjoyed sweets and treats with their classmates! Many thanks to the Parent Association and all of the classroom parents who brought in goodies and set up these amazing parties for the children!
After a day of excesses, the morning of November 1 saw an outpouring of generosity. Students and faculty arrived on the Siesta Key Campus with bags of candy to donate to our military troops overseas. The candy collected will be delivered to Manasota Operation Troop Support (MOTS), a non-profit organization serving military troops deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait with ties to Manatee and Sarasota County and their families. The collection will continue through next week, so feel free to drop off candy outside Mrs. Banks' office.
