Playdates Bring Alumni Back to Campus for Family Fun
Saturday, October 27 found a group of alumni returning to the campus and watching their own children participate in activities that they never imagined doing when they were students themselves on Siesta Key.
A wide variety of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities were available to the 19 children who ranged in age from a few months to 8 years old. Whether they were coding, building bridges, creating circuits, or simply enjoying the three-tiered touch tank, there was a palpable air of excitement as the children explored the classrooms and playground.
For their parents, finding time to reconnect with friends and making new ones made the morning all that more special. Walking around the Siesta Key campus brought back some wonderful memories for many of them, some of whom have not been back to campus for over 20 years!
October’s Playdate was the first of a series of activities planned for alumni during the 2018-19 school year. We hope that more of you will join us in the future. For all of you who were on Siesta Key in the last 30 years, you do not want to miss the December playdate with Coaches Young and Horr!
