ODA Origami Cranes Delivered to Hiroshima Peace Memorial
On Friday, May 10, origami artist Kuniko Yamamoto returned to the Historic Siesta Key Campus to share a video of her recent trip to Japan where she delivered student-created peace cranes.
Earlier this fall, Kuniko visited the Lower Campus to speak to ODA students about Hiroshima and teach them about the ancient art form of origami. Over several weeks, Out-of-Door students hand made 1,000 paper cranes for the Hiroshima peace memorial in Japan. Kuniko took these cranes with her when she traveled to Japan, documenting her trip and the hand delivery of the students’ symbolic paper cranes to the children’s peace memorial.
