At the Fall Student-Athlete College Commitment Celebration, six seniors were recognized for their dedication to their sport and their pursuit of athletic careers at the collegiate level. Three members of the Class of 2020 will compete at Division I programs.
Upper School students, faculty, and staff, celebrated these six seniors who were surrounded by proud parents, siblings, and coaches as they took the next step toward furthering their education. Of these six, three, Natalie Gorji, Sydney Sforzo, and Nick Romagnola will be attending D1 schools; Rice University, University of Notre Dame, and University of South Florida, respectively
This morning’s program was a celebration of Excellence - one of our core values. “At the Out-of-Door Academy we believe strongly in the 3 A’s - academics, arts, and athletics, and encourage all of our students to engage in all three,” said Athletic Director Kippie Crouch. “The six seniors we honor this morning have not only excelled in the area of athletics, but have chosen to continue their craft at the collegiate level. They say it takes 10,000 hours of practice to be considered an expert in a particular field. Be it the practice field or the gym, all the way through to the stadium, these students have dedicated endless hours in the pursuit of excellence, and it is only right that we recognize their achievements.”
Out-of-Door offers our congratulations to the following student-athletes:
Julien Brown, Rhodes College - baseball
Natalie Gorji, Rice University - soccer
Sam Millie, Haverford College - lacrosse
Nick Romagnola, University of South Florida - baseball
