The Out-of-Door Academy Appoints New Head Football Coach

Coach Rob Hollway is Ready to Tackle Thunder Football
Sarasota, FL, March 2022 – The Out-of-Door Academy is excited to announce Coach Rob Hollway as the Head Football Coach for the 2022-23 season. Hollway brings nine years of experience working at both the collegiate and high school levels.

After a successful collegiate career at the University of Wyoming on a team talented enough to capture the title at the Las Vegas Bowl, Coach Hollway rode that achievement into a collegiate coaching position at University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. In 2014 with Hollway as defensive line coach, the Tommies finished the season 14-1, ranked second in the nation.

From there, he assumed a Head Football Coach role at All Saints Academy in Winter Haven, Florida. Hollway earned the 2016 Independent Football Coach of the Year from the Florida Athletic Coaches Association. Since then, he has held administrative and coaching roles within the athletics departments at Windermere Preparatory School and Minneapolis public schools.

His teams’ success and the resulting coach accolades are a testament to his abilities to lead a strong football program.

"Coach Hollway comes with a football pedigree in his family, and has proven successful in Florida at schools similar to ODA," said incoming ODA Athletic Director Andres Parra. “I am looking forward to working with Coach Hollway as he is driven to take the football program in a positive direction and ready to get to work right away.”

Hollway already met with the team through teleconference last week, providing players with inspiration and vision for the future.

“As the Head Football Coach, I am committed to building a program our school, administration, and community will be proud of,” Coach Hollway reflected. “My focus will be on educating and developing our student-athletes physically and mentally in preparation for a meaningful contribution to their community and future families."

Rob and his wife Elizabeth are excited to be coming back to Florida with their twin boys. "The Hollway Family is honored to be joining the Out of Door Academy Community and we feel very grateful for the opportunity,” he said.

The future of Thunder Football looks bright under the guidance of this esteemed coach and former player.
