Students Excel in the Gilder Lehrman Institute's Dear George Washington Contest
Students in second through fifth grade participated in the Gilder Lehrman Institute's Dear George Washington Contest.
The contest is open to all schools who are part of the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. Each student wrote a letter to George Washington shortly after Washington's inauguration explaining what they felt Washington should focus on as the first president of America. ODA had two first place and one honorable mention in the Dear George Washington Contest this year. George Rauch placed first in the second grade division, Brody Rose placed first in the third grade division, and Mia Amdur was named an honorable mention for fourth grade.
