Middle School Student-Actors Shine in Unique Black Box Production
“The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales” opened to an impressed crowd Wednesday night.
The Middle School production featured 13 talented students who played recognizable fairy tale characters with minds of their own. The audience laughed out loud at the dry humor and pithy delivery in the short vignettes that take notable fairy tales and put a unique twist on the story. Beloved characters show new personalities as they get mixed up in alternate, criss-crossed story lines with new morals, sidebars, and co-stars. Imagine a world where the giant rebels from his perch on the beanstalk and the princesses are not damsels in distress. This is the world of The Stinky Cheese Man
A hard-working crew of Middle and Upper School students and faculty members brought the production to life with sets, costumes and lightning that highlighted the comedic moments. The student-actors brought an abundance of personality to characters who broke free from their traditional fairy tale roles. There were stars in the making in the Black Box Theater and there’s still a chance to see them in action at the Saturday presentation at 7:00 pm. You don’t want to miss it! Congratulations to the cast and crew.
