Community Gathers for Fun Day to Benefit ODA Athletics
The 2018 Thunder Athletic Club Golf Tournament at Esplanade Golf and Country Club brought together local business partners, parents, alumni, friends, faculty, and student-athletes for a fun event to benefit ODA Athletics.
This year’s Thunder Athletic Club Golf Tournament was held at the beautiful Esplanade Golf and Country Club at Lakewood Ranch. The event was attended by 80 golfers, including Out-of-Door sponsors, parents, alumni, friends, faculty, and student-athletes.
The TAC’s first president, Keith Reeves, was one the many golfers to enjoy the day’s event, which started with a continental breakfast and players warming up on the driving range and putting greens. Players came from near and far to participate in the fundraiser, including Dan Flynn, who flew in from Milwaukee, WI to join his high school friend Dr. George Castro on the course. There were many alumni, including Jake Grollman ‘07 and Jake Siciliano ‘11, and current students including Jim Cai ‘20.
The players had a great time at the scramble-style event. The weather was as beautiful as the course, and everyone enjoyed their day on the links. As the play wrapped up, the golfers enjoyed an al fresco luncheon and award ceremony. Congratulations to the following 2018 TAC Tournament winners:
Petrik Cup Winner (Team) - Brian Wynne, Kevin Hipsher, Luis Burelli, and Josh Love

"Kids" Putting Contest Prize - Jim Cai
Longest Drive (Men) - Denny Albert
