ODA’s ACLU Club organized a “Know Your Rights” school assembly during last week’s Ovation. The assembly was conducted in a Town Hall style, allowing the Upper School students to stand up and ask panelists questions on the spot.
Panel members Shirley Brown from the Sarasota County School Board, Michelle Morton, the Florida ACLU Juvenile Justice Director, and ODA alumnus Jacob Grollman ’07, a criminal defense attorney, answered a myriad of questions, ranging from the rights of an individual to cell phone data privacy. Many thanks to Josh Cohen ’19 and Ms. Stefanie Betz for organizing this informative event.
