Schedule Changes Encourage Exploration and Collaboration in Middle School

This year’s reimagined schedule for our Middle School students transforms the students’ daily schedule to act as a catalyst for innovation.
The Middle School’s new schedule allows for a more robust advisory program, highlighting activities that promote core values and healthy choices. There is now a logical place in each day for learning about things that fall outside of academia. This includes a consistent club program embedded in the school day that allows students to be exposed to new experiences and share similar interests.

“Normally most people don’t like what I like, but now I have a club where everyone is interested in the same things that I am!” said Bella Cogan ‘26, a member of Ms. Anya Grady’s club, which rotates weekly through student-elected activities on a ‘watch, play, do, read’ schedule.

These new opportunities, supported by the Parent Association, include clubs with everything from game creation, robotics, weightlifting, arts, meditation, engineering, math, and more. This solid program offers safe and short-term options for kids to explore all types of activities. Students are encouraged to try new opportunities, and are already showing how excited they are about this new addition to their schedules.

“We’re having a great time in Game Design club. The best thing is that we can use our creativity and imagination to explore what we are interested in!” said Ty Ramage ‘24.
