Sixth Graders Welcome Future Classmates

When fifth graders arrived at the Uihlein Campus they were greeted by a group of sixth grade ambassadors who would act as their guides for the day: Caitlin Abrams, Ryan Beck, Caleb Cheney, Evan Jarr, Kamran Jobe, and Katya Sommers holding signs welcoming them to campus. From the moment the Class of 2027 stepped onto the campus, they were welcomed by the current Middle Schoolers and administrators with open arms and open hearts.

The students first attended the Middle School assembly, after which they were divided into groups. They rotated through several activities led by their ambassadors, including a round table Q & A with Head of Middle School Mrs. Julie Bianchi, a tour of the campus, mini class sessions, and group games in the quad with Mr. Brewer and Coach Hawkes.

The fifth graders were encouraged to ask questions throughout the program, and the sixth grade student volunteers were amazing resources for them. Mrs. Bianchi and Director of Middle & Upper School Admissions Mr. Michael Salmon were impressed with the Class of 2027 students, taking note of their inquisitiveness and excitement as they learned about their future new campus. The whole Middle School team looks forward to welcoming these new students to the campus next August! Special thanks to the team of sixth grade ambassadors who led these activities, as well as the parent follow-up session where they talked about their experience at the Middle and Upper School campus so far this year. While they’ve only been here for a few months, they are now experts on how to navigate their new campus.
