Third and Fourth Grade Artists on Display

The Kozel Family Amphitheater was filled with colors, patterns, and textures as parents admired the students’ display of two- and three-dimensional art. Click here for photos of the students’ artwork on display at the Art Under the Banyan exhibit.
Friday morning began with a wonderful visual arts exhibit and musical performance as third and fourth grade students shared their creativity during their annual Art Under the Banyan show. Guests enjoyed the music played by Dr. Vasilaki’s talented strings students as they strolled through the Kozel Family Amphitheater to view the wide assortment of artistry on display.

Third graders were proud to show their parents the many new techniques they learned, including origami and Japanese paper cutting, landscape painting, sumi-e ink paintings, gyotaku printmaking, and ceramic dragons. Parents of fourth graders were impressed by crazy hair self-portraits, yarn weavings and masks inspired by Native American art history, 3-D drawings in the style of American painter Wayne Thiebaud, and hand built ceramic ocean creatures.

Many thanks to all of the students for sharing their visual and musical talents with the Out-of-Door community!
