ODA Football Team is Undefeated With Playoff Game Friday

Doug Fernandes - Sarasota Herald-Tribune
The Thunder will host St. Edwards in the quarterfinal round of the Sunshine State Athletic Conference playoffs. Three victories give ODA the state title.
Realizing he needed to fortify his football team, first-year head coach Rob Hollway scoured the halls of Out-of-Door Academy for talent. In that pursuit, the 36-year-old hit a home run.

Hollway enlisted five Thunder baseball players to help turn around a program that finished last season 0-5 under then head coach Jon Haskins. The turnaround was 180 degrees, as ODA replaced the "0" with an "8" and the "5" with a zero.

As the area's only undefeated team, the 8-0 Thunder host St. Edward's on Friday in the quarterfinal round of the Sunshine State Athletic Conference playoffs.
