Monsters, Magic, and Pop Culture Delight Audiences

Middle and Upper School students took the stage this past weekend for four heartfelt and hilarious performances of Qui Nguyen’s "She Kills Monsters." Each performance wowed the sold-out audiences, with talented actors, amazing music, and impressive sets. Click for photos.
The magical performance–directed by Ms. Thayer Greenberg, with technical direction by Ms. Jasmine Deal and Johnny Robinson '23, and Gemma Hardiman '23 as stage manager–went off without a hitch. From the moment audiences entered the Black Box Theater's doors, attendees were brought back to the 90s. “This was my bedroom, I had that exact poster,” said ODA orchestra director Mrs. Nicole Young, as she viewed the opening set.

From the actors to the crew, "She Kills Monsters" brought new energy into the theater. Exceptional special effects, flying magic missiles, fight sequences, dance battles, and giant dragons made by Ms. Sandra Romero and her Art Expanded students, took the production to an unprecedented level.

We'd like to thank everyone who came to support the production of "She Kills Monsters," and ask you to watch for the upcoming spring Middle School production of "Shrek–The Musical" coming to the stage this May!
