A Celebration of Creativity: Uihlein Campus Festival of the Arts

The Out-of-Door Academy’s Festival of the Arts for the Middle and Upper School was a dazzling celebration of imagination, self-expression, and hands-on discovery as students unleashed their inner artists.

At the Middle School, creativity erupted in vibrant displays as students experimented with an array of artistic mediums. Under the guidance of ODA educators and remarkable guest artists, young artists explored the magic of blacklight painting, sculpted with ZimSculpt after a session with a guest sculptor, captured sunlight in mesmerizing sun prints, and folded meaningful messages into intricate origami. With every brushstroke, fold, and carve, inspiration flowed freely, turning the campus into a dynamic studio of artistic expression.

Meanwhile, at the Upper School, the Uihlein Campus students delved into an eclectic mix of artistic experiences. From photography and figure drawing to wire jewelry wrapping and sculpture, students embraced the opportunity to refine their skills and experiment with new techniques. Beyond personal expression, they channeled their creativity into meaningful projects—designing vibrant chalk murals, painting mandala rocks, exploring the movement of "flow" painting, and even crafting flannel blankets for a service initiative. A powerful “wishing” installation invited students to contribute their hopes and dreams in a collective artistic statement.

Adding a sweet touch to the day, ODA’s Arts Alliance treated students to a refreshing indulgence from Carousel's Icery, making this unforgettable celebration even more delightful.
