The college search and application journey is an exciting, and sometimes difficult, process. At The Out-of-Door Academy, our college counseling team works with each family to make informed and realistic decisions regarding college placement.
College admissions is increasingly competitive and selective. Our dedicated team of college counselors has extensive experience working as college admission officers and know the nuances of this complex process. With their guidance, our families are able to research, discover and select the best environment for ODA graduates. With 100% of ODA graduates attending a four-year college or university, our college counseling team has an established reputation for placing students at highly selective institutions.

  • Our College Counseling Process

     The Out-of-Door Academy college counseling program is unlike any other in the area. With a dedicated team of three, full-time counselors, our college counseling program was developed to deconstruct and de-mystify what has become a complex and intimidating process (college admission and financing). Information is presented in a time-appropriate and sequential manner to ensure pertinent information regarding curriculum, testing, college selection, activities, and matriculation. Ultimately, this developmental program decreases anxiety and empowers families to understand the intricacies of college admission. Our College Counseling Office offers the following programs for Out-of-Door families:
    • One-on-one meetings with students in grades 9-12
    • Group workshops
    • Family college nights
    • Senior night
    • Junior night
    • Case Studies
    • Financial aid planning
    • College admissions representative visits
    • College visits
    • Essay writing and application workshops
