Alumni Spotlight

Owen Han '16

During ODA's centennial year, The Out-of-Door Academy proudly welcomed Owen Han ’16 back to the Uihlein Campus. Known to millions as TikTok’s “Sandwich King,” Owen has become a standout in food media, celebrated for his inventive, visually captivating videos and multicultural culinary style. His debut cookbook, Stacked: The Art of the Perfect Sandwich, marks a major milestone in a journey that began within ODA’s supportive community.

During his visit, Owen reconnected with students, educators, and the campus that helped shape his early ambitions—even jumping into soccer practice with the boys team. Through a full day of engaging events—including student Q&As, an entrepreneurship talk, and a live culinary demo—he shared insights into the creativity, resilience, and purpose behind his success. His story, rooted in family, food, and fearless self-expression, continues to inspire ODA students to think boldly and pursue their passions with authenticity. Owen’s journey stands as a proud (and flavorful) chapter in Out-of-Door’s legacy of excellence.
