Thunder Stadium

Our beautifully maintained 100-yard field, encircled by a 400-meter track, is home to The Out-of-Door Academy’s varsity football, cheerleading, soccer, track & field, and lacrosse teams. Located on the northeast side of campus, Thunder Stadium welcomes visiting teams with ample stadium seating, a full-service concession stand, and convenient on-site restrooms.

Petrik Thunderdome

Dedicated by the Petrik Family in 1998, the Petrik Thunderdome serves as the home venue for volleyball and basketball games, in addition to housing physical education classes. Found at the northwest corner of The Quad, the Thunderdome is a multifunctional space used throughout the year for middle and upper school assemblies, guest speakers, House competitions, student council events, and special celebrations.

 
 
 
 

Fox Field House

The 12,300-square-foot Fox Field House is a dynamic and versatile facility on the Uihlein Campus. It hosts middle school volleyball practices and games, physical education classes, and a variety of events throughout the school year—including assemblies, pep rallies, summer camps, graduation ceremonies, and other special occasions. Many MAC2 and junior varsity volleyball games are also hosted in this space.

Dietrich Family Baseball Complex

Taylor Emmons Memorial Baseball Field

Donated by the Dietrich Family, the baseball complex features home and visitor dugouts, stadium seating for fans, and a new electronic scoreboard installed in 2025. The facility proudly serves as the home of the Taylor Emmons Memorial Baseball Field, named in memory of Taylor Emmons ’09.

 
 
 
 

Malisoff Family Tennis Center

Out-of-Door’s state-of-the-art tennis complex includes six meticulously maintained courts, each with its own shaded seating area for players and coaches. Positioned behind the Fox Field House and the Dietrich Family Baseball Complex, the Malisoff Family Tennis Center marks the northernmost point of campus and stands as a dedicated space for tennis training, matches, and tournament play.

Gelbman Family Wellness Center

Located adjacent to the Petrik Thunderdome, the Gelbman Family Wellness Center is equipped with cutting-edge fitness technology to support a wide range of athletic disciplines. The facility includes Smith machines, free weights, treadmills, rowing machines, and more—providing student-athletes with the tools and space needed to train, build strength, and prepare for peak performance.

Practice Fields

Unveiled on November 29, 2017, the Thunder practice fields on the south side of campus are active throughout the school year. Fall football, winter soccer, and spring lacrosse teams all share this expansive outdoor training space, ensuring equitable access to high-quality practice facilities across all athletic seasons.
