Three Campuses, One Vision
Feel the magic of the...
Historic Siesta Key Campus
Pre-Kindergarten - Grade 5
This is where it all began. In 1924, the vision of our founders came to life on the small, barrier island of Siesta Key where sand, sunshine and a love of the outdoors fueled an innovative educational experience.
A century later, you can still feel this energy when you step on our Historic Siesta Key campus. Beyond our idyllic setting and historic buildings, an unwavering focus on shaping our youngest learners through meaningful curriculum and cognitive exploration leads our approach.
Current families and visitors alike admire the unique features of our campus including innovative instructional spaces, the marine science lab, broadcasting facilities, family-focused performance venues, and our beloved Thunder Hut – an outdoor tiki-style multipurpose and dining space.
Our students love supporting their classroom learning with meaningful field trips and celebrating signature academic milestones. As they mature, older students enjoy different leadership opportunities and “choosing their own adventure” with respect to visual and performing arts, as orchestra, band, choral and broadcasting opportunities are available. Most of all, students love our educators. Our outstanding team nurtures our youngest students to unlock their learning potential, find their voice, and approach challenges with resilience and respect.
Located at the intersection of education and magic, our Historic Siesta Key Campus awaits!

At the Lower School Campus on Clark Road, we are trailblazers and explorers.
Building on more than a century of early childhood educational excellence, the Clark Road Campus marks a new chapter in Out-of-Door’s hallmark approach to nurturing our youngest learners. Guided by both tradition and innovation, our community thrives on strong partnerships with families and deep connections to the Sarasota-Manatee region, creating transformational educational experiences every day.
In response to the evolving needs of our school community and the rapid growth of Sarasota and Manatee counties, the Clark Road Campus has quickly become a vibrant gateway to an Out-of-Door education. Spanning 100 acres of open space alongside Myakka State Park, the campus offers unparalleled opportunities for learning, play, and connection with nature. This approach, now known as the “Clark Road way,” enriches Out-of-Door’s culture across all campuses.
Each classroom extends into the outdoors with dedicated learning spaces supported by versatile technology, empowering students to thrive in environments where they learn best. A quarter-mile nature trail certified by the National Wildlife Federation invites daily exploration and interdisciplinary discovery. Signature programs, field trips, and community celebrations are already part of Clark Road life, while strong ties with our Historic Siesta Key Campus provide students with “a home away from home” and abundant opportunities for collaboration.
We warmly invite you to visit and experience how the Clark Road Campus serves as a vibrant cornerstone of ODA, where tradition and innovation meet and the spirit of our community flourishes.
