Thunder Nation Shows Spirit for Annual Homecoming Event
Spirit Week on the Uihlein Campus in Lakewood Ranch was packed with fun events in the days leading up to Homecoming.
Students and faculty got excited for the Homecoming game with themed dress-up days and class competitions throughout the week. The annual mattress race in the quad was won by the sophomores this year, and the seniors smashed the competition in the lip synch battle with their wildly entertaining version of "Toxic." Everyone dressed up for Wild West Wednesday, Throwback Thursday, and the "white-out" on Friday for the big game. The pep rally had the Thunderdome shaking with cheerleaders, a barbershop quartet, football players, and Thor getting the students psyched up for Friday night's game.
The family picnic was great fun for the whole family! There were huge bounce houses and inflatables, face painting, and an awesome BBQ dinner served in the Thunderdome. ODA fans and families dressed in white filled Thunder Stadium for the Homecoming game against Kennedy Catholic High School. The Thunder dominated from the start soundly defeated the visitors from NY in a shut-out. Congratulations to all of the football players for an amazing game! GO THUNDER!
