Upper School House System

With a vision to strengthen student connections, promote leadership, and ignite school spirit, Out-of-Door Academy proudly launched a dynamic House System—an initiative designed to elevate student life and foster a culture of belonging in the Upper School.

Students remain in their House throughout their Upper School journey. Signature House events and competitions build identity and excitement. From creative contests and spirited challenges to student-planned activities, these experiences foster camaraderie and deepen the sense of belonging.

While each House is unique, all are connected by a shared commitment to ODA’s values and the collective spirit of Thunder Nation. known as Thunder Nation. As this tradition deepens, it continues to shape a student experience defined by connection, character, and community.

Symbols of Identity and Pride

Each House was named and designed by students, inspired by Florida’s native trees and ODA’s iconic banyan. Emblems, mascots, and values reflect each House’s spirit:

Mangrove

Cypress

• Color: Green
• Mascot: Alligator

Jacaranda

• Mascot: Osprey
